Fundraising campaigns for NGOs

Every campaign has a target, a deadline and a result report — see at any moment how much has been raised, who contributed and how much is still missing.

A fundraising campaign is easily lost between a poster, an online form and a manually updated spreadsheet. At the end nobody can say for sure what each channel brought in, who gave for the first time, or whether the target was met. In 4ong a campaign is an entity with a target, a deadline, a cause and a destination for the money. Every amount received is tied to the campaign and to the donor, and progress is visible in real time. When it closes, the campaign report is built from the data already entered — useful both for the board and for the supporters you owe an account to.

  • Campaigns with a target, a deadline and a cause, with progress calculated automatically from the amounts received.
  • Every gift is tied to the campaign and to the donor record — no double entry.
  • Separate sources: individual giving, corporate sponsorship, charity events, on-the-ground collections.
  • Target segments built from your donor base (recurring givers, major donors, lapsed supporters).
  • Fundraising events, with participants and contributions recorded.
  • Corporate sponsorship with the agreement and the benefits promised, under Romanian Law 32/1994.
  • A campaign report with the result per source, the cost of the campaign and the net amount raised.
  • History of previous campaigns, so you can compare what worked from one year to the next.

From the target to the final report

You define the campaign with its public name, cause, target amount and deadline. As money comes in — through the bank, at an event or via a collection — the amounts are recorded against the campaign and the donor. The progress bar constantly shows how much has been raised and how much is missing, so the team knows whether to step up communication. At the close, the report gathers the result per source, the number of new supporters attracted and the cost of the campaign, so you can honestly say what one raised leu cost you.

Corporate sponsorship, handled separately

A sponsorship from a company does not behave like an individual gift: it has an agreement, it has promised benefits (a logo on materials, presence at an event) and, for the company, its own treatment under Romanian Law 32/1994. In 4ong the sponsorship is recorded against the campaign with the agreement attached, the amount, and the list of benefits still to deliver, so nobody forgets the report promised to the sponsor. The campaign report always separates corporate amounts from individual ones.

Who you address: segments built from your own base

The cheapest gift is the one that comes from an existing supporter. Before the campaign you build segments from the donor base: those who give recurrently, those who gave a large amount at least once, those who have not given in two years, those who signed the tax-redirection form. Each segment gets a fitting message, and the result is measured per segment — so the second campaign starts from data rather than intuition.

Charity events and on-the-ground collections

Many campaigns also have an offline component: a charity concert, a fair, a collection at a sports event. In the platform the event is tied to the campaign, with its participants, the contributions collected and the organising costs. That way the event no longer appears as a lump sum in a separate spreadsheet, but as a source of the campaign with its own income and cost, in the same report.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run several campaigns in parallel?

Yes. Each campaign has its own target, deadline and report, and a gift is attributed to the matching campaign. The dashboard shows every active campaign with its progress.

How is campaign progress calculated?

From the amounts actually received and recorded against the campaign. You can see pledged amounts — for example a signed but not yet paid sponsorship — separately from money already in the account.

Can I see which source brought in the most?

Yes. Every amount has a source — individual gift, sponsorship, event, collection — and the campaign report shows the result per source alongside the number of supporters attracted.

What happens to new supporters a campaign attracts?

Every gift creates or completes a donor record, so new supporters stay in the organisation’s base and can be included in future communication, respecting the consent recorded.

Can I track the benefits promised to sponsors?

Yes. The sponsorship carries the agreement and the list of promised benefits, each with an owner and a deadline, so the sponsor report goes out on time.

Can campaigns be compared year on year?

Yes. Closed campaigns stay in the history with their result, so you can compare the amount raised, the number of supporters and the cost of the campaign across editions.
